DESCRIPTION: AZTEC
COATINGS™ Plastic Roof Cement is a tough, all-purpose,
professional grade roof cement. Manufactured with select
asphalt, solvent and fibers, it provides a durable patching
compound. AZTEC COATINGS™ Plastic Roof Cement can be used
to patch splits, seams and cracks in bonded gravel, mineral
surfaced cap sheet and smooth surface asphalt roofs as
well as composition shingle and metal roofs. It can also
be used for repairing areas around chimneys, vent pipes,
gravel guards, down spouts, cracks in concrete and expansion
joints on roofs. Do not use on wet or damp surfaces.
PREPARATION: All surfaces
must have proper drainage and be clean, dry and free of
surface rust and any other foreign matter. For emergency
repairs use a quality roof cement or a all weather flashing
cement. DO NOT HEAT OR THIN. FOR BEST RESULTS: Apply on
clear sunny day when surface temperatures are between
50° and 120° F. In colder weather product should
be stored in heated room (65° to 80° F.) at least
24 hours prior to application. After a minimum of 45 days
cure time, apply a reflective roof coating. This will
greatly extend the life of the roof.
APPLICATION: Protective
clothing and eyewear should be used during application
of this product. Apply with a trowel or putty knife. Work
material to an even consistency over and into the area
to be repaired. Apply 1/8" to 1/4" thick, two
or three inches beyond the problem area. It is highly
recommended to reinforce repair with a strip of glass
fabric. Embed fabric into the cement and cover with a
second layer of cement. Form a feathered edge with cement
where chimneys, vent pipes and other projections meet
the roof line. Coverage rate is approximately 12 1/2 sq.
ft. per gallon when applied 1/8" thick. PRECAUTIONS:
When transporting this product, ensure that lid is tight
and pail secure and upright. Do not allow pail to tumble
as this may cause lid to loosen and leakage to occur.
Do not store at temperatures above 110° F. This manufacturer
also disclaims liability for flat surface application
where poor drainage or moisture may prevail. For exterior
use only. Do not reuse empty containers.
CLEAN-UP: Clean tools
with paint thinner or mineral spirits.
